Public Education
The Greenfield Fire Department has a lot of cool stuff to offer kids of all ages. The fire department utilizes a fire and weather safety trailer that we use to teach children about fire safety and severe weather. This trailer travels to Greenfield grade schools during the fall for fire safety and the spring for weather awareness training. The fire department is available to any organization to talk about fire related subjects. We have programs to offer to all age groups from preschool to senior citizens. The fire department offers a juvenile fire setter class for kids that have an unhealthy curiosity of fire. We also offer station tours, and residential inspections. All these services are available upon request. Contact the Greenfield Fire Territory Administration Office at 317-477-4430 or fill out a request a school tour form below to schedule a tour for your group
It is extremely important and the fire department wants all citizens to have a working smoke detector in your home. We have smoke alarms for those who cannot afford them. Please call or stop by either fire station to get a smoke detector if you need one. We also have smoke detectors for the hearing impaired if you need one as well. The Fire Public Education is headed up by Fire Marshal Steve Kropacek. He has over 20 years in fire service experience.
