Update November 25 2024
Park Ave has been reopened. Some construction will continue but traffic should not be affected.
Update November 4 2024
Upcoming closure of Park Avenue – there will be local access to residents/businesses but through traffic will be detoured to avoid Park Avenue. This closure will begin on Thursday, October 31st and will continue through Saturday, November 9th.
The first phase of construction will occur between October 28th and November 2nd between the existing sanitary manhole in the middle of the intersection of Park Ave/Pratt St and new pipe will be installed to the east before the bridge over the Brandywine Creek. The existing road will be cut for the installation of new sanitary pipe and the road cut will be temporarily opened with stone backfill for local vehicular traffic. During this phase the 4-H fairgrounds will be accessible from Apple Street to Brandywine Creek from the east only.
The second phase of construction will occur at the new lift station location – between Apple Street and Brandywine Creek – and will occur between November 4th and November 9th. This work will entail crossing Park Avenue with new sanitary pipes and Greenfield power and fiber conduits. The road cut will be re-opened with stone backfill for local vehicular traffic once completed. During this phase the 4-H fairgrounds will still be accessible from Apple Street to the first drives west of Apple Street and the western access drives should be available if needed and can be accessed from Pratt Street.
Once these two phase are completed the contractor will prepare the roads for asphalt paving with the plans to complete this work during the week of November 18th.
